In the Name of God Amen I John Morriss of the County of Isle of Wight being
in sound mind and perferct Memory do make ordain and constitute this Writing
as and my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
Imprimis I Give and bequeath the Land and premises whereon I now live
to my loving wife Mary During her natural life and after her decease I give
the said Land and premises to my Son Conyers Morriss to him and his Heirs
forever.
Item I give unto my Daughter Sarah Stroud Ten Shillings Current Money to
paid her by my Executors after the deceased of my Wife.
Item I give unto my Daughter Hannah Haile Ten shillings Current Money to
be paid her by my Executors after the decease of my Wife.
Item I give unto my Daughter Mary Harriss Ten shillings Current Money to
be paid her by my Executors afte the Death of my Wife.
Item I give unto my Daughter Christian Hatchell Ten shillings to be
paid her by my Executor after the Death of my Wife.
Item I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Haile Ten shillings Current Money
to be paid her by my Executors after the death of my wife.
Item I give unto my Grandchildren Laurence Haile and Edy Haile Three
pounds Current Money each to be paid them by my Executor after the Death
of my wife.
Item I lend my loving Wife Mary my Negro Grace Tom Caesar Lewis and
Deameus and their Increase During her natural life and also the rest and
residue of my Estate of what nature or kind so ever and the decease of my
said Wife I give and bequeath unto my son Conyers Morriss the aforesaid
Negores Grace Tom Caesar Lewis and Demors and future Increase and all of
the Rest and Residue of my Estate of what nature or kind soever to him and
his Heirs forever.
Item it is my Will and Desire that whatever I have left or given to my
Children that hath married and left me which they have now in possession
be hereby Confirmed as Actual Gifts to them and their Heirs.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son Conyers Morriss my whole
and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and
disannulling all and every other Will by me heretofore made. In Witness
whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my seal this Fourteenth
Day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and
Seventy two.

At a Court held for Isle of Wight County the 3rd Day of Decmeber 1772.
This Will was Presented in Court by Conyers Morris the Executor therein
named who made oath thereto according to Law, and the same being Proved
by the Oaths of Thomas Turner and John Day the Witnesses thereto and
ordered to be Recorded and on the Motion of the said Executors who
together with Jethro Gale and Daniel Batin his securities entered into and
acknowledged their Bond in the penalty of one Thousand Pounds with
condition as the Law directs certificate is granted them for obtaining
a probate thereof in due form.
