In the name of God Amen I John Humphrys Senr. of Pascotanck Precinct &
North Carolina being Sicke and weak in body butt in perfect mind & memory
thanks be to god do make this my last will & testamt as followeth (viz)
  First I recomend my Soul to God from whom I had itt hoping through the
meritts of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have a joyfull resurrection att the
last day and my body to the ground to be decently buryed according to the
discretion of my Executor hereafter mentioned.
  Secondly as to my wor[l]dly Estate both real and personall after my debts
& funerall Charges and Legecies be fully Satisfyed & payd I give and
bequeath as followeth.
  Item I give & bequeath unto my daughter Mary Gray one Cow & Calf after my
decease.
  Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah B[r]ay my one three yeare old
heifer.
  Item I give & Bequeath unto my son in Law Griffith Gray Fifty acres of
Land being the Plantation he now lives on and as for the remainder of my
pers[onal] estate I desire itt may equally divided between my foure sons
John Humphrys Wm Humphrys Christopher Humphrys & John Humphrys and I doe
also by these presents sett my youngest Son John free after [my death].
  Item I give to my Son William Humphrys the Plantation I now live on wh
all the [torn] thereunto belonging except the fifty acres land which I have
given to Griffith Gray and lastly I Constitute & appoint Wm Humphry[s]
to be the exr of this my last will & testamt In testimony whereof I have
hereunto sett my hand & Seal the 2d day of Decr Anno D. 1708.
