In The Name of God Amen. The first day of January Anno Domini 1721 I
Thomas Barecock of the Precinct Pascotank in The Province of North Carolina
Planter being Indisposed of body but of perfect mind and memory, Thanks
be given unto God: Therefore calling unto minde the mortallity of my body
and knowing That it is appointed for all men once to dye Do make and
ordain This my last will and Testament That is to Say Principally and first
of all I give and Recomend my Soul into The hands of God that gave it and
my body I Recomend to The Earth to be buried in decent Christian buriall
at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the Generall
Resurection I shall receive The Same again by the mighty power of God.
And as touching Such Worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to
bless me in This life I give demise and dispose of The Same in The
following manner and form.
  Imprimis I give & bequeath to Daughter Elizabeth Upton the Sume of Tenn
shillings Current money of North Carolina In Full of her portion and of
all that I intend shee shall Enjoy of my Estate
  Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah Sanderlin the Sume of
Tenn shillings Current money of North Carolina in Full of her portion and
of all I intend shee shall Enjoy of my Estate.
  Item I give to my Daughter Pressilla Gregory one Negro Boye named Tony to
her & her heires for Ever.
  Item I give to my Daughter Margarett Gregory one Negro mand named Simon to her
& her heires for Ever and I Likewise give her one Silver Cupp.
  Item I give to my Son William Barecock one Negro Girle named Bell to him and
his heirs for ever & I Likewise give to my Son Willm Barecock my dwelling
Plantation (I now live upon) to him and his heirs & assigns for Ever. allso
I give to my Said Son William Barecock all my Wearing Cloaths.
  Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Rebecka Forbus one Negro Woman Named
Rose to her and her heirs for Ever.
  Item I give to my Daughter Marthay Forbus one Negro Woman Named Bess to her
and her heirs for ever.
  Item I give my Grand Daughter Margaret Davis three Cows & three Calves and
one Mare and one Trunck to her & her assigns and also I give her one
Negro Boye named Lymon about -- years old to her & heirs.
  Item I give to my Grandson Thomas Barcock one Cow and Calfe and one Gunn.
  Item I give to my Grandson Caleb Gregory one Tract of Land adjoyning upon The
Land of Soloman Davis Containing by Estimation one hundred Sixty Acres
to him his heirs and assignes for Ever.
  Item I give and bequeath all the Remaining part of my personal Estate
to be Equally Divided between my Son William Barecock and my four Daughters
Named by the Names of Prissilla Gregory, Margaret Gregory, Martha Forbus, 
and Rebecka Forbus.
  I Likewise desire and order That all my Just Debts & funerall Expenses
be duely paid and Dischargeed by my Executores here after named.
  Item And Lastly I doe appoint my Loveing Son William Barcorck and my
Loveing daughter Margaret Gregory to be my Whole & Sole Executors of this
my Last Will & Testament Revoakeing disannulling & makeing void all other
Wills heretofore by me made And doe hereby acknowledge pronounce and Declare
this to bee my Last Will and Testament and no other as Wittness my hand
and Seal this first day of January anno Domi 1721
